HOW IT WORKS

Making your first carousel

  1. 01

    Write one idea per slide

Start with a cover that makes a promise, add a few content slides, and finish with a slide that asks for one thing.

  2. 02

Style it and set the order

Pick colors, add your name and move slides up or down until the story reads in the right order.

  3. 03

    Download and post

Save the PDF, start a LinkedIn post, choose "Add a document", upload it and give it a title.

THE CAROUSEL ARC

Promise, deliver, ask

The cover promises one clear benefit. Each middle slide delivers one piece of it. The last slide asks for one action. If a slide does not move things forward, cut it.

Tips that work

  • Do write a cover title you would stop scrolling for yourself.
  • Do keep each slide to one idea and a few lines.
  • Do use type big enough to read on a phone held at arm's length.
  • Don't paste a full article into slides.
  • Don't shrink a presentation deck and upload it as is.
  • Don't end without telling people what to do next.

Topics that suit the format

Carousels work when an idea has parts. Frameworks, step-by-step processes, a list of mistakes, lessons from a project, a before-and-after: anything with three to eight pieces fits. Each slide is quick to read, the cover acts as a headline, and people swipe to see the next piece.

They are weaker for a single opinion or a short story. If the whole point fits in two sentences, a text post will do the job with less effort, and the Post Generator can help you draft it.

Turning a text post into slides

A text post that did well is the easiest source for a carousel. Take each paragraph or list item and make it a slide. Write a cover that states the benefit plainly, add a one-line summary near the end, and close with a slide that asks for something: save it, comment with their own example, or follow you.

The generator handles layout, so every slide comes out at the same size with the same spacing. You only think about the words. That is the main reason we built it: most people do not need a design tool for this, they need fewer decisions.

Designing for a thumb, not a monitor

Most people swipe through carousels on a phone. Short titles, big text and plenty of empty space read well there. The portrait 1080 × 1350 size fills more of a phone screen than a square or landscape slide, which is why the tool uses it.

Count your words per slide. If a slide needs more than a few lines, split it into two. Ten slides is the maximum here on purpose. A carousel that keeps going loses people before they reach your ask.

The cover is the only slide everyone sees, so give it the most attention. Above the document, write a short post text that says why the carousel matters, and give the document a clear title when you upload it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a LinkedIn carousel?

A PDF uploaded as a document post. LinkedIn shows it one page at a time, and readers swipe or click through the slides.

What size should LinkedIn carousel slides be?

Portrait 1080 × 1350 is a common choice because it fills more of a phone screen. This generator exports at that size.

How many slides should a carousel have?

Enough to deliver one idea well. This tool allows up to 10 slides, which keeps carousels focused.

How do I upload the PDF to LinkedIn?

Start a post, choose "Add a document", upload the PDF, give it a title, add your post text and publish.

Is my content uploaded anywhere?

No. Slides are drawn and the PDF is built in your browser, then downloaded straight to your device.

Can I add images or logos?

Not in this version. You can edit the downloaded PDF in any PDF or design tool if you need images.

What should the post text above the carousel say?

Two or three lines that tell people what they get by swiping, and why it matters to them. The Hook Generator can help with the first line.
